BE A VOICE, NOT AN ECHO
The spirit behind HAH has always been rooted in encouraging women to be confident in their beliefs and steadfast in their values. We aim to inspire women to lead with purpose and confidence, no matter their age, ethnicity, or size. The world is a better place when women recognize their value and encourage each other to do the same.
Be a voice, not an echo.
This quote resonates deeply with us, and since our inception we have emulated this phrase in everything we do and all the products we make. To enact change, we know we have to #startsomewhere… Change doesn’t happen overnight, it happens day by day and step by step, and we know that it can’t happen without conversation and participation. Creating that conversation and igniting that fire starts with women standing up and making their voices, opinions, and thoughts heard. It’s important to speak up, and one key way we can do this is by registering to vote and participating in our elections!
With the idea of encouraging voter registration in mind and a trip to New York City around the corner, team HAH decided to conceptulize a photoshoot with some of our East Coast HAHTIES to bring to life our passion for women supporting women and the importance of showing up to make progress. Twelve hours before landing in NYC, we sent out an Instagram post looking for ladies to join a special project. This post resulted in over 250+ passionate women DMing us, wanting to participate in whatever we were cooking up. Some offered to call out of work, multiple people were willing to drive up from New Jersey, and one even mentioned flying in from Colorado. We gotta give our customers credit, you ladies know how to SHOW UP. By late Friday evening, we were cozied up in our NYC hotel DMing a group of 40 women the secret location of our meet up the following day.
The next day, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, with muse Isabella Farrell & our favorite NYC based photographer Sam K in tow, team HAH rolled into central park (a few minutes late in true NYC fashion) to be greeted by over 30 women. To say this group of fabulous women (plus one dog) were genuine & inspiring would be an understatement of the century. Within minutes of showing up we discovered they all had befriended one another and were already discussing the topic of female empowerment. What followed was a fun-filled day of badass photos wearing our best-selling KIM-ON-HOE Top, open dialogue between women of all backgrounds & motivating words from our fearless leader, Sharleen.
Voter turnout statistics can often be disappointing, but this past month voter registration has skyrocketed, revealing that more and more people want their voices to be heard. With women’s issues being pushed to the forefront of today’s politics, participation is more important than ever to enact real and tangible change. The first step is showing up, for yourself, for your fellow women, and for future generations.
Here at HAH, we like to say it’s cool to care. No matter your political stance, using your vote to voice what you care deeply about is important. It’s one of the most critical things you can do to take charge of your future. There’s nothing #HAHTer than someone standing up for what they believe in.
Join team HAH and hit the polls on November 6th to vote in the midterm elections.

“Change is not a bolt of lightening that arrives with a zap, it is a bridge built brick by brick, every day, with sweat and humility and slips. It’s hard work. It’s slow work.”
